Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and client-focused Gallery Manager to lead the operations and sales performance of a premium design showroom. This role is responsible for delivering a best-in-class client experience, developing a high-performing sales team, and ensuring the showroom consistently reflects strong brand standards, aesthetics, and service excellence.
The ideal candidate is a natural leader with a passion for design, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to build lasting relationships with industry professionals including designers, architects, builders, and homeowners.
Key Responsibilities
Client Experience & Sales Growth
- Lead daily showroom activity with a hands-on approach, ensuring every client receives a high-end, consultative experience
- Guide the team in solution-based selling, product education, and design support to drive conversion and upselling opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners including designers, architects, and builders
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, outreach, and community engagement
- Support the execution of showroom events, product showcases, and client education sessions in collaboration with marketing
- Leverage digital tools and virtual platforms to enhance client engagement and expand reach
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, onboard, and develop showroom consultants to build a motivated and high-performing team
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and structured development plans
- Manage daily staffing schedules to ensure optimal coverage and service levels
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and results-driven team environment
- Drive accountability for sales targets, client follow-up, and service standards
Showroom & Operational Management
- Oversee the overall presentation, merchandising, and visual standards of the showroom
- Ensure product displays, samples, and materials are well-maintained, current, and aligned with brand guidelines
- Manage day-to-day operational workflows including order processing, CRM usage, and customer tracking systems
- Support inventory accuracy and ensure smooth coordination of product availability and showroom readiness
- Maintain a consistently elevated environment that reflects a premium brand experience
Business Performance & Reporting
- Monitor sales performance and support achievement of revenue targets
- Track key performance indicators and provide regular updates to leadership
- Analyze customer trends, feedback, and market activity to identify opportunities for growth
- Support reporting on showroom performance, staffing, and operational efficiency
- Contribute to strategy discussions around growth, client acquisition, and market positioning
Qualifications
- 5+ years of leadership experience in retail, showroom, gallery, or luxury client-facing environments
- Strong background in consultative sales and client relationship management
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
- Familiarity with design-focused industries (building materials, interiors, architecture, or luxury retail) is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage sophisticated clientele
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and operational discipline
- Comfortable using CRM systems, order management tools, and digital client platforms
- Proven ability to balance sales leadership with operational execution
