About the Role:
Hollingsgate is proud to be representing a well-established and respected retailer specializing in premium outdoor living products. Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Operations Manager
to lead the daily operations at their Markham location.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll oversee inventory, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and support order fulfillment while maintaining a high level of service for both clients and staff. The right person will be organized, proactive, and ready to take full ownership of operations over time.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Order Management
- Verify incoming inventory and perform manual measurement checks
- Manage inventory across multiple locations, including custom products
- Coordinate and place furniture and cushion orders
- Maintain manufacturing lists with due-back dates and ensure timely follow-up
- Perform annual physical inventory counts (Nov/Dec) and input data
- Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure accuracy and fulfillment
Sales Support & Reporting
- Support sales team with space planning and logistics
- Run sales reports and use Excel to analyze data and support purchasing
- Monitor deadlines and follow up with manufacturers
Vendor & Customer Coordination
- Liaise with manufacturers to resolve delivery issues, warranties, and credits
- Maintain logs of customer concerns and warranty claims
- Book deliveries and make final balance collection calls
Administrative & Office Duties
- Maintain office supply inventory
- Answer phones and assist with incoming customer inquiries
- Provide general admin support to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications:
- 2+ years in operations, inventory coordination, or retail administration
- Experience or academic background in interior design is strongly preferred
- Proficient in Excel and comfortable working with reporting tools and spreadsheets
- Strong communication skills and excellent organizational abilities
- Able to work independently, manage timelines, and follow through on tasks
- Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills are a strong asset
- Background in retail, furniture, or design-related environments is a plus
Schedule & Hours:
- Peak Season (April–June): Tuesday–Saturday (10 AM–6 PM), Sunday (12–5 PM), closed Mondays
- Off-Peak: 5 days/week, 7-hour shifts, closed Sunday and Monday
- Availability required for annual inventory (Nov/Dec)
