About the Role:
We are looking for a seasoned L3 Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in networking, security, and backup deployments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable executing projects from start to finish, troubleshooting network traffic, securing infrastructure, and optimizing IT environments for clients. This is a highly technical role, requiring deep knowledge of switches, VLANs, firewalls, backup solutions, and security hardening.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Deployment & Configuration: Build and optimize enterprise IT environments, including deploying VLANs, configuring switches, and setting up network infrastructure for clients.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain Veeam backup solutions, ensuring secure data storage, redundancy, and rapid recovery.
- Firewall & Security Hardening: Write and manage firewall rules, lock down networks, and implement security measures to prevent cyber threats.
- Network Traffic Analysis: Use Wireshark and other network monitoring tools to analyze traffic patterns, troubleshoot port utilization, and optimize network performance.
- Physical Network Setup: Label and organize network ports, deploy switches, and ensure proper cabling and documentation for seamless IT operations.
- Security Monitoring & Detection: Proactively identify security threats, monitor logs, and implement detection and mitigation strategies to protect client environments.
- Project Execution: Take full ownership of network and infrastructure projects, ensuring deployments meet client needs and security best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in networking, infrastructure, and security.
- Strong expertise in VLAN configuration, Cisco networking (switches, routers, firewalls).
- Experience deploying and managing Veeam backup solutions.
- Proficiency in firewall security, rule writing, and traffic control.
- Skilled in network diagnostics using Wireshark and other packet analysis tools.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent client communication skills for handling on-site and remote infrastructure support.
- Certifications (Preferred but not required): CCNA/CCNP, Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), Sophos Certified Engineer, Security+.
