About the Role
We are partnering with a well-established, growing dairy manufacturing business to recruit a hands-on Controller. This role sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and production, and is critical to ensuring strong financial control, accurate dairy reporting, and clear decision support across the plant.
The ideal candidate brings deep manufacturing finance experience, comfort working directly with production teams, and a strong understanding of dairy-specific cost drivers. This is a highly visible role in a fast-paced, owner-led environment where practical leadership and accountability matter.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full finance function, including financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Lead plant-level financial support, working closely with production, supply chain, and operations teams
- Oversee dairy-specific reporting, including milk intake, utilization, yield, shrink, waste, and reconciliation
- Manage standard costing, SKU-level profitability, and finished goods cost flow
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry reporting requirements related to dairy operations
- Lead audit readiness and serve as the primary point of contact for auditors and regulators
- Manage cash flow, working capital, treasury activities, and bank reporting
- Strengthen internal controls, processes, and financial discipline across the business
- Support leadership with clear, actionable insights to drive operational and commercial decisions
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven Controller or senior manufacturing finance experience
- Strong background in food or dairy manufacturing environments
- Hands-on experience with milk economics, yield analysis, and plant-level costing preferred
- Solid understanding of ERP systems within manufacturing settings (dairy or food experience an asset)
- Experience working in regulated environments with audits and compliance requirements
- Practical, plant-facing leadership style with strong communication skills
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, owner-led business
